This program will review the profiles of generations currently in today's workforce with a specific focus on the challenges for HR in recruiting, managing, and motivating each respective group. Strategies will be shared for addressing the challenges.
Kathy D. Gromoll, CCP, CEBS, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, is Senior Compensation Analyst for Austin Community College. She also teaches at the University of Phoenix. Kathy served several years as a senior consultant and Vice President for a consulting firm in the Phoenix area and has worked in various human resource capacities both at the divisional and corporate level for a number of well-known companies.
Her varied HR background includes compensation, benefits, affirmative action, employee relations, HRIS, employment, training, compliance, budget/strategic planning, acquisition/mergers, and expert witness work. Prior to joining the business world, she was a secondary school counselor where she did career testing and counseling and was also a secondary school math teacher.
Kathy has an undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree from Youngstown State University. Awards include Servant Leadership Award (University of Phoenix), Editor's Choice Award (International Library of Poets), Who's Who for Leadership ('99-'00 Strathmore), and President's Award (CalComp/Division of Lockheed).
She is past contributor to Kathy's Korner (human resource articles for The ALCA Influence); editor and writer for numerous articles published in HR Snapshot ; "The Face of Violence ", "Overworked? Underpaid? Devalued?", and "Entitlement? The Employee Side" for the Human Resource Center Newsletter, Update.
