Open Board Positions for 2026:

➡️ VP Communications - Lead all pre and post event communications, oversee member surveys, and manage our quarterly newsletter highlighting CTCBA actives and member stories.

➡️ VP Social Media - Keep our members informed by sharing relevant HR, compensation and benefits-related articles weekly. You'll also coordinate monthly member job postings to support our professional community. 

➡️ President Elect - Work closely with current and past President to help guide the direction of CTCBA. This is a leadership pipeline role - ideal for someone passionate about shaping the future of our organization.

The CTCBA Board of Directors is comprised of professionals who enjoy working together and are always open to making the Association better for our members.  We are excited about the upcoming year and look forward to working with you. BOARD TERMS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Board meetings (in-person and conference call) are held on the first Thursday of each month between 11:30am-12:30pm.
  • Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings and quarterly luncheons and events.
  • Board positions serve 2-year terms, except President titles (3-year terms). Elections are held in October.  Board members have three primary duties known as “care,” “loyalty,” and “ethical duties.”

Care: Ensure discretional use of all assets, including facility, people, and good will.

Loyalty:  Make decisions that are in the best interest of the association; not in the best interest of the individual board member (or any other individual or for-profit entity).  Diclosure of conflict of interest 

Ethical: Ensure that the board members and the association follow applicable laws and regulations; follows its own bylaws; and that the association adheres to its purposes/mission.  Board members must acknowledge and abide by the CTCBA Ethics & Conduct Policy and CTCBA Commitment prior to taking office.

BOARD MEMBER COMMITMENT

  • Attend at least 75% of board meetings and attend quarterly luncheons and events and will not miss more than two board meetings in a row.
  • Maintain association membership in good standing.
  • Act in the best interests of the association, and request to be excused from discussions and votes where there is a conflict of interest.
  • Stay informed about what's going on in the association.  Ask questions and requests information. participate in and take responsibility for making decisions on issues, policies and other board matters.  
  • Work in good faith with other board members as partners towards achievement of our goals.
  • Exercise the duties and responsibilities of this role as defined in the Bylaws with integrity, courtesy and due care.

      If I don't fulfill these commitments to the association, I will expect that the Board will consider my removal from the board.  If, for any reason, I find myself unable to carry out the above duties as best as I can, I agree to seek assistance and/or resign as a board member and will relinquish any board records/files within 10 business day.
